There Are Nice Dark and Nice Light: The Songs of Wolf and Pamela Biermann

Wolf Biermann is an important figure in the contemporary culture circle in Germany. Biermann has lived through the dramatic history of Germany since the Cold War and its reunification, and his life has been affected by it deeply. It is the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. As a key artist voiching against the Wall, Biermann will perform his popular songs throughout the years this evening. Scottish poet and musician Colin Bramwell, Lithuanian poet Aušra Kaziliūnaitė, along with poets from Taiwan, Li Min-Yong, Chang Fang-Tsu will recite their poems that were meant to fight against the oppressing powers.

*Note on Admissions: For the performance “There Are Nice Dark and Nice Light”, there is no fee for the admission, however tickets are required. Tickets are limited due to the venue capacity. Starting from September 05, each person can ask for 4 tickets in specified locations, or 2 tickets through online reservation system. There might be a waiting list on the day if there are still tickets available. Parts of performance will be in German with Chinese Subtitle.
