The director’s cut of the Xi Xi documentary Birds of Passage — A Writer of Our City

The documentary tells the story of Xixi’s life from wartime Shanghai to post-war and contemporary Hong Kong. Revealing the true personality behind the poet for Taiwanese readers, the 2025 Taipei Poetry Festival will present the latest director’s cut of the documentary Birds of Passage — A Writer of Our City, with additional scenes included. A special screening will be held on October 10, followed by a post-screening talk featuring Law Lok Man and Stuart Lau Wai-shing, director and vice director of the Xi Xi Space.

Admission to " Birds of Passage: A Writer of Our City " is free but requires ticket reservation. Tickets available from 12:00 PM on Sep 30, limit one ticket per person. Reserve online at KKTIX. A waiting list will be available onsite on event day.


Daughter’s 99 Shades of Blue──A Duet between Poetry and Music

Awarded the 2025 Newman Prize for Chinese Literature, the poet Ling Yu becomes the fourth Taiwanese writer to receive this prestigious recognition, following Yang Mu, Chu Tien-wen, and Chang Kuei Hsing. Ling Yu’s latest poetry collection, Daughter, honors her deceased mother while also adopting multiple perspectives of “daughters” to accentuate women’s struggles for survival. The performance features Lo Sirong, who will interpret songs from her latest album Daughters, accompanied by a conversation with the poet Forest Lin, known for her sensibility to music, about Lin Yu’s poetry and music.
