Opening and Closing

Opening Poetry Performance – Light through Cracks
Saturday, Oct 04, 19:30 @ Zhongzheng Auditorium, Taipei Zhongshan Hall

The interplay between light and darkness is the origin of all theatre and the echo of all sounds.

Director Chen Yu-Dien artistically translates poems selected from Water Ghost Incidents, the latest poem collection by Hu Nan-Chong, into a fascinating theatre of images, followed by a border-crossing musical journey as A Moving Sound blends world instruments from diverse traditions to perform poetry centered on the theme of light. The three foreign guest poets at the 2025 Taipei Poetry Festival will also read their poems accompanied by A Moving Sound’s music.

Admission to "Light through Cracks" is free but requires ticket reservation. Tickets available from 12:00 PM on Sep 12, limit two per person. Reserve online at KKTIX  or in person at Taipei Zhongshan Hall. A waiting list will be available onsite on event day.

The 2025 Taipei Poetry Festival will conclude with a performance on the evening of October 18th, featuring Lamulu Pakawyan, Cidal Talod, Sayun Nomin, Salizan Takisvilainan, and Abus Takisvilanan, and Ma Yi-Hang. These six indigenous poets share their diverse life experiences and poetic styles through a dialogue between objects and poetry. Together, they present a journey not only with the self but also with each other – thus evoking a gathering of memories, through which they follow the voice to reach both inward and outward.
